On Saturday, November 12th, Members from the Kent & Queen Anne's Rescue Squad took part in a county-wide Mass casualty incident Drill. This drill was designed to incorporate a large commercial-style vehicle versus a Van, which had the potential to carry upward of 8 to 12 patients. By definition, a Mass Casualty incident doesn't necessarily mean multiple fatalities but instead, is an incident that taxes the resources available for a normal everyday call. Members were tasked with learning the roles of Incident command, all the way down to the triaging of patients, including different techniques and methods of patient extrication from a larger vehicle. The Drill was hosted by the combined efforts of the Kent County (Maryland) Fire chiefs association and the Kent County (Maryland) EMS Council.
